South Korean native Koeun Grace Lee has been appointed as the pianist for Carolina Concert Choir for 2019-2020 season. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Post-Master’s Certificate in Music Theory Pedagogy from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music, and Bachelor of Music in Piano and Piano Pedagogy and Artist Diploma from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Dr. Lee is an avid performer, educator, and conference lecturer. She has presented numerous lecture-performances at conferences of the College Music Society in the U.S. and South Korea. She has been a featured performer at the Composition in Asia International Symposium and Festival at the University of South Florida and is a frequent concert artist for the Asheville Art Museum Pianoforte Series. She is an active solo and collaborative guest artist and recently performed at Arkansas State University, Kansas State University, Furman University, Jacksonville University, and many other venues. She will be featured on SPG Live! of Steinway Gallery Greenville, Charlotte, and Greensboro this fall and next spring.
Dr. Lee is on faculty at the Academy for the Arts at First Baptist Church-Asheville, the University of North Carolina-Asheville Summer Piano Camp, and Mars Hill University. She served on piano and music theory faculty at Brevard College and the University of the Incarnate Word. Dr. Lee is an active member of Asheville Area Piano Forum, College Music Society, American Musicological Society, Music Teachers National Association, North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs, and Suzuki Association of the Americas.
