ARTISTIC DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Carolina Concert Choir seeks a talented choral conductor to serve as Artistic Director and Conductor starting July 1, 2018 which will be the Choir’s 40th season. This part-time position will have duties concentrated between August and May.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Artistic Director and Conductor (Director) is a part-time position reporting to the Board of the Choir. The Director selects music for all programs presented by the 60 plus member all volunteer auditioned choir. The Director works closely with the Board to fulfill the Choir’s vision, mission, program, financial, and artistic goals which include performance of winter and spring concerts, and smaller group performances for community outreach. The Director also works with the Board to develop growth of the Choir, audience, and financial support. This last area includes attending publicity briefings, participating in video advertising, local Chamber of Commerce events, and other such opportunities.

Requirements:
The candidate should have a music degree from a recognized accredited program plus multiple years experience conducting a chorus of similar or larger size with similar artistic goals. The candidate will be experienced in planning and executing concert programs and will exhibit the leadership and interpersonal skills to continue the growth and learning of the Choir, meet schedules, timelines, and budgets.

Compensation: Salary $7,000 per year.
